Sure, Sunny was being sarcastic in another thread, but there's several types of chopsticks out there, some are good for some foods, but not all. I could never get the hang of using the metal ones Koreans use if fire wasn't involved. The shiny finely tapered Japanese ones are good for sushi rolls, but impossible for noodles -- though they feel good in the hands and mouth. The Chinese have essentially the same all-purpose shape (square top, thick round bottom) for wooden and plastic chopsticks. The disposable bamboo ones seem to be accepted all over Asia as the de facto design. Maybe I'm so used to using the Chinese ones that I never developed to pick up a slippery ramen noodle with a finely tapered chopstick? Are there more varieties out there? Your favorite?
