Throw out your ideas for meets here! (suggestions for making your own meets)
What are your favorite PG-13 hobbies, types of restaurants, outdoor activities, or things to do that would be good for a meet?
Over time and especially recently, I've had AznLovers ask me how to go about hosting meet-ups in their areas. Because of this, I thought I'd mention that meets don't have to be elaborate or weekend affairs. There are many simple ideas you can start with to get your area warmed up to the idea of meeting. Just having 3 or 4 people meet is a great start for smaller or less active areas!
* Sunday lunch at a local hole-in-the-wall
* Potluck picnic with frisbee and badminton
* Cultural festival
* Happy-hour drinks after work
* Salsa dancing lessons
* Teach a small group your hobby (photography, cooking, etc)
Brown bag wine tasting. Everyone brings a bottle of wine $20 or cheaper in a brown bag and a cheese to share. The bottles are numbered and everyone does a taste test. People are given little score cards to fill out as they test. It's always interesting to unveil them at the end. We could even have it out by the pool at our townhouse complex as long as we drink out of dixie cups LOL.
I tried to host one in my little city and only one other person showed up! Hahaha We had a great time though.
I'd do it again if people were interested. I'm almost exactly half way between Sacramento and the Bay area and we have some amazingly good restaurants here and a lovely waterfront that often has live concerts.
If anyone is interested I can look and see who will be playing and when.
I can only dream here because I think I don't have any aznlovers near me.
But if I could make a meeting then I would want to go hiking in the nature or city sightseeing in cologne, then maybe chilling out at a lake or meadow to have a neat picknick.
I swear I make a wicked tzaziki! Barbecuing is an option too, I am loving it!
In the evening I would love to go out to a place where one can still understand the others words, like a pub or something.
Then doing the afterparty at home.
Actually I am a home party type and would love to host such a party one day.
In winter I would suggest to go see an interesting museum at first or an interesting building and then go dining somewhere.
After that it's the pub again or some home party.
Oh, sure I would also like to meet other photographers and go out taking pics with them.
But well, we don't have so many of them here, there would be many places we could see.
For all the AznLovers who are based in Europe, maybe I could organize for you all a meet in Paris, the city of light and love.
Right now it's the summer holidays and I'm a little bit lazy. But in fall after the holidays, I think it's possible to do something in Paris. After all, Paris is not that far by train or by plane from London, Koln,or Milano.
We can visit the museums or monuments in the morning, have a lunch together at noon, make a trip on a boat Bateau mouche on the Seine river the afternoon, have diner at evening and finish clubbing in a Parisian nightclub.
If you guys are interested let me know. I would be glad to take care of everything like booking the hotel rooms, restaurant tables or buy the tickets for the museums or monuments.
Aznlovers who are not based in Europe are also welcome. We can arrange date which fits everybody schedule.
A hundred years of human existence,
Prodigy and fate intertwined in conflicts,
Mulberry fields turned into open sea,
Enough's been seen to melt the heart.
Little wonder that beauty begets misery,
For Blue Heaven's jealous of exquisite glamour!

OOoooooooooooooh, what a great idea!
If there were a lot of peeps though, we'd lose sense of taste... and reason! haha
