the times have been giving a lot of coverage to korean cuisine ever since momofuku took top new restaurant in the city, but their critics, especially frank bruni, are notoriously ignorant about asian foods in general and korean food in particular. this article helps redress that.
ggaenip, or marinated sesame leaves, are gaining a lot of currency, as are haemul pajeon, the seafood pancakes. both are very easy to make by the way. you can grow the leaves yourself...very easy to cultivate.
