Wehrmacht and SS: Caucasian, Muslim, Asian Troops (Hardcover)
A new book I found on Amazon. I just ordered me a brand new copy this afternoon. Get a copy if you're interested in learning more about the participation of Asian men in the Nazi Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS during WWII.
That actually sounds like a book I should pick up. I'm a WWII buff and I also did all of my undergrad work on Central Asia and the Caucasus (spent a summer in Georgia in fact). Thanks for the rec!
"Usually when people are sad, they don't do anything. They just cry over their condition. But when they get angry, they bring about a change."
a book about stupid ugly Asian men that got caught up in the Nazi war machine? no thanks.
Satisfied? You know, I really hope so because God knows you need some satisfaction in life besides shagging Captain Cardboard and I never really liked you anyway and... and you have stupid hair. Spike
Here's one of the more popular pictures of an Asian man serving in the Nazi Wehrmacht.
Chiang's son.
This guy is the son of Chiang Kai-shek. He used to be a General in Taiwan and died many years ago. His wife was half-Chinese half-German. His brother was the president of Taiwan, whose wife was a Russian woman, which means we used to have a caucasian first lady in Taiwan. All them died already.
I would be surprised if the Asians in uniform were more than just political liaisons for some of the governments in Asia. Still, Chinese diaspora being what it is, I wonder if some early immigrants were unwittingly conscripted into European military forces. It makes me wonder if there were any Asians in WWI.

You are correct. The Japanese during world war 2 conscripted Asians (koreans, chinese, mongolians) to fight who were then captured by the Russians and forced to fight the Germans who then were captured by the Nazis and forced to fight the Americans.
