Great Japanese sportsmanship in the Olympics

I had a grin on my face reading this one.

It's one thing to be a good sportsman, But it's a whole other thing to INVITE your competitor so that the two of you get better together! Kudos to Kitajima! He's definitely a true true champion.

Kitajima completes breaststroke double - Olympics - Yahoo! Sports

"Kitajima invited Duboscq to train with him earlier this year, and he said the Frenchman deserved a bow for pushing him to new heights.

Duboscq also gained from the training sessions.

“I’m very pleased for him,” Duboscq said. “We spent two weeks training together in Japan and that’s one of the big reasons for my improvement. I became a more patient and focused swimmer.”

smokedance10 is an unknown quantity at this point
Kitajima is really cool. He is a great swimmer and a great person. He remembers what so many athletes forget; sports are not just about competition but are mostly about the mental, spiritual and physical growth of an athlete.
