well if you guys followed the news at all, you might have heard about the vietnamese catholics that passed away on that bus wreck in texas. so my uncle was one of the unfortunate ones. he was like a grandpa to me and he was very active in the church community so it was totally unexpected. haven't been to a funeral in ages. actually on been to one when i was like 8 yo. so just arrived in htown and its a family reunion in unfortunate circumstances.
also had coworker who passed away recently too. he was only 34yo. these events jus makes u start thinking a bit more.
but fuck in adidition...i forgot how humid it gets and i didn't bring the bug spray either
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

That sucks about your uncle. I hope you are feeling better. : ) The cool thing about funerals is that they are almost always reunions. During a period of reflection and sadness, family can really make you feel better. Somebody might crack a joke and for a moment you forget why all your family is together. My father's funeral 4 years ago had a real warm vibe to it. My mom wanted it to be a celebration of his life, not a somber occasion. It was a good day.
thanks for the condolences....yeh it really makes you think. and esp when i see all my second cousins all freakin grown up. its been only four years but now they're in high school...makes me start feelin my age
My deep condolences, funkymunky.
It can happen so quickly and catch us totally offguard.
I will think of you and hope the universe sends you some extra strenght.
Losing a loved one is always difficult but as sad and as painful as they are, funerals are a time to put things into perspective, to realize what is important in your life and what is not.
I wish you peace in dealing with your loss. My condolences to your and your family.
