I love PBS, I'm a supporting member. Never had cable, though there are a few shows I like on there I catch when they go on DVD, The Wire and Dexter mainly.
There was a time I didn't watch tv even though I had cable. This was about for 2 years! It forces you to be creative and enjoy other more social activities.
I do love tv again though and find that tv can be enriching if it doesn't overtake your life. like creamer said, just rent or buy dvds! Or make a tv night with some buddies
