16 year old drops out of school to play guitar hero
OK, so I personally know several people on this site that like to play guitar hero A LOT but this seems a bit extreme. The kid drops out of school to play video games.
That does seem a bit extreme. More than a bit. I would say he should probably get a part-time job, keep up with school, maybe do homeschooling the rest of the way, if he really wants to support himself so he can play games competitively.

Heck why not if he can make a living out of it, school isn't for everyone.
My co-worker knows this 21 year old kid who plays online poker game and made about quarter million dollars last year along and he also has a regular job.
He will GROW out off it when he gets hungry and cold..."
He will need something to keep him warm....
Like a girlfriend, home and FOOD!! Oh and MONEY to get those things...
Well first off, whoever wrote the article needs an editor... until then, he shouldn't be talking about dropping out of school or anything about education.
Quote:
Peebles hahdn't been doing well in school and wasn't liked, and even now he isn't gaming full time. He has a tutor that provides a private education, and his parents say he's doing well with the more focused instruction and that their son now even does his homework without complaint. (Presumably he can hit the axe sooner after he's finished his studies.)
If he's doing the private tutor thing and eventually getting his GED or diploma, I don't see any reason why not. If anything, in today's high school it seems more kids are worse off especially if they don't fit in ... as long as he gets SOME kind of education, I wouldn't even be concerned about it.

Haha .... Yeah online poker and guitar hero aren't exactly the same. Not sure how much you can win by playing guitar hero as a job.
I say go for it ... where do I sign up?
you can make enough if you play the games before they are out for sell. lol. so, the best thing that boy can do is start getting a job testing games for the companies putting them out.
