Just thought I'd make a thread for people to post their favorite pieces of art. Trying to impart a little culture. My mind's been in the gutter far too much lately.
Mine:
Edward Hopper - New York Movie. The composition and use of perspective-- background, middleground and foreground--is just absolutely breathtaking.
John Singer Sargent - Street in Venice. The way the girl is dressed, the way she carries herself, the first I ever saw this painting in the National Gallery when I was a teenager I thought, "I want to marry this girl."
^ wow, impressive, faithfulartist. Pollaxt, I love JSS, he is my favorite. I used to work at the Sterling & Clark museum in the Berkshires, and they would have a lot of his works displayed there. I love his portraits. Good taste.
Off topic here, but do any of you buy original art? I'm interested in buying original art and supporting unknown, or new and upcoming artists. However, I don't know that much about art.
"Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions. -Albert Einstein"
All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

Faitfulartist sells I do believe.
His nudes are amazing, very captivating, as well as some of his installation interactive pieces.
I love and support his art so much I do plan on posing for him nude soon!
