A massive creature like the blue whale or the whale shark eats only krill for the rest of its life. I wonder if humans could eat only one type of food, would it solve world hunger?
You know what, being the weird little girl that I am, I've ALWAYS wondered what would happen if you locked random people up and just fed them the same (for them, but different among each other) food for the rest of their life, and compare results. Like if you forced someone to eat only fruit, but as much as she wanted, could she still overeat and get fat? Or random things like pickles. Would they be a weight gainer or loser?
Haha anyway, back to my life...

A person could eat only iceberg lettuce for awhile and gain weight as long as their calorie intake from the lettuce exceeds their normal daily intake, that is until the lack of protein and fat more or less kills them.

lol. that would not be very fair to some people. there can be things that an individual should NOT be eating. like if they are lactose intolerant or they have other bad reactions to certain foods.

that weight would most likely be water weight and to eat that much ice berg lettuce is just not healthy. there is a very low content level of the nutrients that a human would need to survive other than protein and fat. that also goes for animals. it does not help your intestinal health either. so, in fact, you would die far faster than a lack of protein and fat would produce. lol. think about constant diarrhea.
