This question stems from a conversation I usually end up having with girls generally younger than me...ranging from 18-21.
When they find out I Ballroom/Latin dance, they consider it lame. Yet I haven't met one girl who is around my age or older who thinks it's lame. It's funny too, because when I was in charge of choreographing (swing and salsa) a bunch of teenagers for a girl's Quincenera...one of them said "This shit is gay...teach us stuff that will get us girls!". I smirked and said "If you pay attention (too bad they didn't)...you'll be thanking me in 5 years"
So my question is/are... What activities have changed/altered/added for you as you matured? Anything you gave up and picked up on? Is there any reason for those changes aside from just wanting to try something new?
I'm only 23...but after my skateboarding accident, I don't do as much skateboarding/waveboarding as I used to...and I've recently took up the hobby of fishing. I still do some other extreme sports, but I'm finding content in a lot more "calmer" activities that I once never gave chance to.

Activities/Interests added:
learning another language. I learned German back in high school, just didn't keep up with it like I was supposed to. I have an interest in taking up Portuguese and probably Korean.
Into fashion design. Soon as I got into school, realized I can't sew, but I can draw...but I got a good mind for business though.
Dancing. I just like belly dancing, along with the music, and the costumes...dying to take a class.
I loved theater. If I wasn't on stage, I'd be backstage doing makeup. Still love doing makeup, wanna further that and make it an art.
Anime and video games. As a teenager, loved them both and was horribly addicted to them that my grades suffered. As an Adult, I rarely get into them...only on occasions. Too bad I got friends who are terribly obsessed with both of them to the fact I'm the odd one out.
Maturity made me realize that if it's something I enjoy it's never lame. Younger people are more easily influenced by society or doing a hobby that's "in".
When I was younger I was into swing dance(which was really hot when I was a young adult). Coffee houses and drinking. (ya drinking was a hobby back then). I hid some of the other things I liked to do, like read historical novels and it was my secret behavior.
Now I find that I just do what I want to do. I crotchet a blanket if I feel like it. I got a sewing machine and want to get good at it. I learned to salsa. I want to learn to ballroom dance. I love gardening, and I bore people talking about it, but it's something I enjoy so they can suck it up!
I guess you can say I've embraced being domestic. There was always pressure when I was younger to have hobbies that were going to help me be an upwordly mobile young woman. Now I just do what makes me happy, and fuck em!
Mine seem to get more youthful as I get older. I play in a flag football (coed) league, I rock climb twice a week, I tend to like team and extreme sports. I also got my motorcycle license and want to get a bike. So yeah, I am moving backwards....

What, like masturbation? I don't think that ever changes as someone matures...
Even in a relationship, it's good exercise to yank the wank just to exercise...
Oh wait, this is the rated PG thread, isn't it...
