I've been thinking on it for years and think this is the time. I'm a lil more settled now and won't be so careless as I'd have been in my youth. I'm thinking a starter bike like a Honda Rebel would be good. I'm into Cruiser/Standards, not Sports bikes. I think I'll buy used first until I learn to ride well. There's a local riding school I think I'll go to.
I have done some research but will do more... you guys are a part of it. haha
I kinda like this one... but it might be a lil too new to start with.
This one is in my area... older and less $$... comes with the helmet!
Have fun.
AND post pics when you have it!
And take care, a used helmet can be slightly but invisibly damaged, I recommend to get a new one, at least some days later. It's safer and I want you to be safe.
I know, I am not useful with any recommendations, sorry.
Awesome! I've always wanted to learn to ride bikes but with such short riding seasons in MN it just didn't seem reasonable to pay for a bike. Good luck with everything and be safe!
CD, I agree about the helmet. Used bike OK, used helmet no.
Yeah, don't forget to use a hairnet when you use the used helmet unless the hairnet is used too.. just get a new helmet and hairnet... problem solved...
haha...I have been thinking about buying a scooter to save cash on gas. I have no avice...just wante to say I approve. In V egas you have to take a class in get a special licence. Is it the same there??

Frozenintime, in CA you don't. You can take the road test instead. But the CHP classes are so cheap most people opt to take that instead. For a couple hundred you get to use their bikes to practice, not to mention they teach you all the essentials in the classroom also. It's a great deal.
