...So, the story is, I have a formal occasion to attend next weekend, and, for those that know me, formal is NOT my style, in fact it terrifies me.
jeans and a T = YES YES YES
formal gowns = terror and heavy medication...
but I digress...
I needed a dress..ugh...gown bleh..and since i hate shopping for the most part, and especially trying on clothing, i have been shopping online, i found the gown of my dreams...loved it...my girls loved it and approved..so after twiddling around, and wasting weeks putting it off , i went to order yesterday and it was no longer available..
WHAT
WHAT
nooooooooooooooooooooooo
so I showered up and spent and hour or so driving to the closest mall..
I sersly, went in every store...E. V...E...R...Y store, every bridal shop, every formal wear shop, JC pennies, Macys, Nordstroms...all of them and could NOT find a dress, either they werent age appropriate, and i would look like i should be out on the street corner in a red satin halter dress cut up to "there", or they were black and that is NOT appropriate for this occasion. ugh ugh

admittedly i am NOT a shopper, but i was giving it the college try sigh...
so i sat down to gather my wits about me. I had NO idea what i was going to do.
as many of you know, I am a believer...in the higher power that is....
so i said a quick prayer as i sat in the mall...
" please please help me find a dress...anything will do...."
and got up , to continue the search.
While I was in JC pennies, in the formal section, they had a few dresses that really caught my eye and taste...tasteful, elegant, appropriate for me etc... BUT they were all petite...size 2...or 4 ....nothing even in a 12...wahhhhh
I decided to just call it a day, did a quick gander few a few formal wear stores on my way to the car...and walked by one last store I HADNT gone in...
SEARS...?????? huh? i was drawn in there, i thought i was wasting my time, as sears is NOT known for formal wear anyplace ive ever heard of...luggage yes...tools yes..gowns? no??
meh..what did i have to lose...it was calling me..lol
so in a went...ummmmm
SEARS HAS FORMAL GOWNS..NO KIDDING....I BOUT DROPPED OVER...
i ran to the racks and was looking through them...
you will NOT believe this... but the one dress in one of the other stores that i really loved but was to small ...WAS ON THIS RACK...IN MY SIZE!!!
i am NOT kidding...
i was about moved to tears...it was so beautiful, and looked so nice on, i couldnt believe it was me as i looked in the mirror...the exact dress, same designer, everything...but...it was $140....( I actually think it was more in the other store)
i have never spent that much on a dress in my life
but i was desperate...so i closed my eyes and yanked out the credit card...
I stood there holding my breath, tax...cha ching, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
It rang up to...
$ 33.69
YES
The dress was on sale for $106 dollars off retail...
I HAD NO IDEA, NO YELLOW TAG, NOT ON THE SALE RACK..WHAT????
I JUST STOOD THERE WITH MY MOUTH HANGING OPEN
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DUMB TO BURST INTO TEARS, THE CLERK WOULD HAVE THOUGHT ME RETARDED..lol
i was at the end of my rope with this dress thing, been worrying and stressing about it for some time...and then to have this happen...
it was overwhelming..
OH...and i saved so much money, i went and got my hair done !!

Its really grown out since some of you saw me last summer...
so here is my bargain gown....It is full length, beaded top, and i got some jewelry to go with it...I think im gonna LIKE this shopping thing...
