The Dalai Lama came to my school last year to talk about peace and what youth can do for the future. He is an awesome person. Books: Audrey Hepburn's Neck, its a piece of fiction about a young Japanese man who is obssessed with White gaijin women. Its interesting. My Japanese textbook...is evil. Movies: 3-Iron, an excellent Korean film about a deep connection between two people that does not need words. 2046, a movie about relationships and loneliness. Music: DBSK, Taeyang, Big Bang, Epik High, Shinee, Crystal Kay...mostly kpop

I just placed an order for Nam Le's The Boat. Reviews say it's a good piece of fiction written by a young Asian author that has great insight for someone his age. I also ordered Iwin A. Tang Gook:John McCain's Racism and Why It Matters. Do the people of the United States realize that they could elect an admitted racist as the next President of the United States???

Well, if you know what he went through in Vietnam... I'm vietnamese and I don't think he is but he sure has reason to be when they torture you.

It was a time of war...many South Vietnamese, who fought along with the Americans, went through the same treatment from their Nothern counter parts for decades. Alot of the South Vietnamese POW's were treated worst, because they were viewed as traitors to their homeland. So, why should he have been treated differently? Because he's an American? Because he's white??? McCain, along with the rest of the American Military, were viewed as the enemy, as their new oppresors by the North. I don't condone what the communist did to McCain or to the other POW's, but I do understand it was a time of war.

I highly recommend you read, if you haven't already, or for anyone else who is interested in Vietnamese history and the war, Sacred Willow: Four Generations in The Life of a Vietnamese Family by Doung Van Mai Elliot.

I just needed to get the word out there... in 2009 a hollywood movie is coming out called Bunraku, with demi moore, woody harrelson, josh hartnett, and gackt. Yes I SAID GACKT... and for those of you who don't know who he is... possibly one of the most important japanese celebrities that ever existed, and now he is crossing over into mainstream hollywood... I can't wait!! So please go see the movie and support him and the asian community!! By the way, I still love woody and Josh... my veg brothers!
