Yeah, I put more stock in the US. News lists, cause not only do they list the top schools, but they also break it down into specializations, the top for liberal arts, top for the best Masters in different regions of the US (North - Villanova (VA), South - The Citadel (SC), Midwest - Creighton University (NE), West - Trinity University (TX)), top fifty public national universities, and such. Then they break it down further to the top five for particular specializations like programs in International Law/Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical/Finance/Quantitative Analysis/Methods/Various forms of Engineering, top ten or more in lowest acceptance rate, highest graduation rate, best with internships/study abroad/service learning/first-year experiences/senior capstone.
In which case the top 25 are:
1. Princeton U. (NJ)
2. Harvard (MA)
3. Yale (CT)
4. Stanford (CA)
5. California Institute of Technology (tied with)
5. University of Pennsylvania
7. Massachusetts Inst. of Technology
8. Duke (NC)
9. Columbia U. (NY) (tied with)
9. University of Chicago
11. Dartmouth College (NH)
12. Cornell U. (NY) (tied with)
12. Washington U. in St. Louis
14. Brown U. (RI) (tied with)
14. Johns Hopkins U. (MD) (also tied with)
14. Northwestern U. (IL)
17. Emory U. (GA) (tied with)
17. Rice U. (TX)
19. University of Notre Dame (IN) (tied with)
19. Vanderbilt U. (TN)
21. Univ. of California - Berkeley
22. Carnegie Mellon U. (PA)
23. Georgetown U. (DC) (tied with)
23. University of Virginia
25. Univ. of California - LA
Plus, for Jazztastic, it lists Duke, the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University (NC) in the top thirty.
Personally, I'd rather an international top 50 list.
True power; the divine right to rule? Is something you're born with.
I'm not gay; you're just threatened by my superiority. - my brother, talking with me on how men oft view formal wear as a "grin-and-bear-it" ordeal, when he does not.
