Quite a ways from the season.
I grew up in the Seattle area so it's without doubt that I am a Sonics fan. I remember the heart break of losing to the Nuggets (#8 seed) as a first seed in 1994.
I remember them going against the Bulls in the finals in 1996. Shawn Kemp was the real MVP of that series, though they tend to award it to the best player of the winning team. I still think Shawn Kemp is arguably the most explosive player the league has ever seen. Though I like Stoudemire too but to me Shawn was my original basketball hero.
Ever since the Sonics moved and became the Thunder *shudders* I can't help but cheer for them to lose. Sorry I want the whole league to know it was wrong to take away a team that's very much part of the city and the heart of their fans.
But getting back on the topic, my second favorite team is the Suns. Now that Porter has left, I hope to see the Suns get back more into that high octane run and gun game. Stoudemire is my favorite baller on that team. I like basketball to be exciting and fast but I do enjoy a cerebral close game as well. Well the game should be played all out but more controlled once it's crunch time.
I also like the Blazers due to the Seattle contingent. (Roy, Webster, and Mac 10). I once met Nate at basketball camp. He saw how in awe I was of seeing him. he came up to me and said what's up. Being a shy teenager, I looked away. I hope he didn't think I was intentionally rude.
To this day, I still don't understand what a 3 second defensive violation is.
