Heheh...
Actually, I'm more commonly known as Sonka, and I'm from Mississippi. I grew up in Vicksburg, but now I live in the absolute middle of nowhere with a bunch of animals - 2 horses, 2 goats, 5 dogs, and too many cats. There's really not much to do here, but when it's cooler outside I do like walking around in the woods. I like music - really just about anything except Emo. Sometimes, I write my own songs. I love theatre, and I always thought that was what I was going to do in life; however, now I'm thinking I'm more likely to be a language teacher (either English or some foreign language as I pick up languages fairly easily and have studied French, Italian, German, Latin, and Spanish.) Now, I mostly only know Spanish since the less I use a language the more it starts to slip away.
Besides languages, music, and theatre, I'm also interested in history, mythology/folklore, and religion/spirituality among different cultures. I like martial arts as well (especially jujutsu, baguazhang, various types of wrestling, and various weapon arts such as naginatajutsu, kenjutsu, iaido, fencing, and mounted archery) however, I should note that most of these I've only seen done by others, but given an chance I'm open to learn anything.
Although, I've had several crushes on asian guys (mainly Chinese, Japanese, Korean) whom I've known either through school or work, I've never had a boyfriend who was asian mostly because of 2 reasons:
1. I have a strong tendency to freeze up around guys that I like.
2. I was convinced they would never want to be with a non-asian girl like me.
There was one guy who did seem to like me, but my doubts pretty much killed any kind of relationship we could have had; and even though my cousin dated a few asian guys, I still thought to myself that she probably liked them more than they liked her. Then, earlier this year, I had several dreams which lead me to question what I had thought previously. I went on a Google search for relationships between asian guys and non-asian girls, and I felt like I had stumbled upon a gold mine of information- part of which includes this site. After much debate with myself as I so often do, I decided to join, and so, here I am. Nice to meet you.
