I know the movie, the Lover, has changed many western female's view on sexuality of Asian males. I'm just curious if you were born with the interest in Asian males or there's a special event or person that triggered it.
To the guys:
When was the first time you found non-Asian females attractive?
In my case, I have found white females very attractive since I was very young (before puberty). So it's not pure sexual appealing to me. I was still living in China back then. There weren't many foreigners around. But there were lots of old western movies, TV shows. I was like, wow, these girls are so beautiful with big blue/grey/brown eyes, wavy blonde/red/brown/brunette hair, fair skin, bright smile, especially the elegant, well-formed, high-bridged noses... (I don't know why, I'm very attracted to beautiful noses, probably because my mom has beautiful straight nose.) They are so different from Chinese girls. I'm gonna marry one of them. That's actually one of the main reasons why I came to Canada.
I know it sounds superficial to some people. But I'm talking about the triggering event. I guess my crush was partially from curiosity. Now I'm still attracted to white girls, but I've realized that there are beautiful people in every race. For example, I've recently started to find many black girls very attractive. And personality of the female plays more and more important role as I grow older.
My brother, who also lives in Canada, never finds white girls attractive, though.

I don't remember what triggered it. In the fourth grade I "had a boyfriend" named John. It lasted a week, though, because he was too nice. Always giving me gifts and wanting to hold my hand.
I've always been a brute. He was Chinese and I really did like him.... As much as a fourth grader can like another fourth grader. O.o
And other than that? It's the famous people that really made me fall hard. But back in Killeen/Ft. Hood at the time, there weren't many Asian people in general. O.o Mostly blacks and whites. Now it's mostly blacks and with hispanics battling the whites. Yeesh. And huge gang issues. O.o

About 1½ years ago I saw some Jackie Chan movie on TV I had actually seen before. Watching that movie even tho Chan is a bit of a clown, I realised how beautiful features he had; dark thick hair and almond-shape eyes. I had always loved dark, thick hair, but then Asian man seemed so exotic and interesting to me. Then I surfed to some sites of some Asian countries, and one day I went to a Finnish chat room and a guy wrote to me in English. He said he was from China, we discussed for a while and he suggested about meeting up. We did, I was nervous as hell as I had never talked with an Asian man before for more than 10 seconds. He was a real gentleman from the beginning until the end. That was really nice after having been treated like shit by Finnish men for a long time. The Chinaguy and I weren't really a good match, but anyways I decided that I would only do Asian men from that day. I can't remember when I went to some Asian discussion forum for the first time; before or after meeting the Chinaguy, but then I was surprised to find out that so many Asian men like white women. I used to think that Asian men like just Asian women and think that all other kinds of women are ugly. I am glad I found out that it is not true
Many Chinese guys are very considerate. It's how they were raised. But of course, there're a**holes in every race. lol...
I used to think that white women only like white guys or black guys, and got frustrated for a while. Then I found out that it's true that most white women only date within their own race, but again the same thing happens in most other races, and many white women are open to dating Asian guys.

It started when I was in Ghana, West Africa. I was in 5th grade, going to Ghana International School. They have a lot of Europeans there. Anyway, one of my class mate was a girl from Norway. Blonde hair, blue eyes type. I really liked her but I was too scared to talk to her. Maybe I was too young. Then again, I am 26 now, and sometime I still get scared.
I have to agree with you on the nose. A lot of Asian girls (at least Burmese girls) do not have those features.

I've always thought white and hispanic girls are attractive ever since I was a little kid. But all girls have their own attractive features. Green eyes + brown hair = FTW. Brown eyes + blonde hair = FTW. An Asian girl would be great too (haven't had the pleasure unfortunately ), if only I can find a cute one that's into good music, say, System of a Down. It's funny because every time I go to a SOAD concert, I'm like the only Asian person there
