Caucasian and Black Chinese
I remember I had this huge crash on a girl when I went to high school back in China. Now when I look back, I suddenly realize she looked exactly Caucasian. But she's Chinese. I've seen her parents and they all looked Chinese. In fact, there were two other students in my class who also looked Caucasian with fair skin, wavy hair, very light eye colour, typical Caucasian facial and body structure. I'd say they look more Caucasian than many Caucasian people I've seen in Canada. But they were all born to Chinese parents. Perhaps they have some Caucasian ancestors. Interestingly, the person who had the fairest skin in my class looked typical Chinese. Very few white people have fairer skin than her and she's not albino. Another guy in my class looked exactly Black, except for his skin, which was still darker than most Chinese people.
We never thought them as someone different, though.

She might have some Tatar/Tajik in her bloodline. A lot of Tatars and Tajiks can pass as your average "White AMericans".

That's possible. But that was a small city in southern China, 2000 miles from the Russian border. And they look more western European especially northern French. Actually they look more Caucasian than most of my French friends. Their parents don't look quite Caucasian. So it's more likely from their ancestry line. And they don't even look like hapa.
There's another guy in the small town I lived. We called him Yankee coz he looked exactly like a white boy. He was very popular among girls.

IT is true, it's no secret that alot of Japanese are mixed from the old(er) days thus you may have the ones who look very asian (typical round face, small eyes) and then the other ones who are more burly and have western features

The Caucasoid features of Japanese people are probably from the aboriginal Ainu people who had lived in Japan before the Yayoi people came. Chinese people are not homogeneous, either. So many different ethnic groups were assimilated into the stock. So it's not uncommon to see Chinese people with Caucasoid features especially in northern and western part of the country. Normally you don't see these people in North America because most overseas Chinese are from southern China where people look more like south eastern Asian.
