My first instinct is just to put a slash through the (=) sign to make it read "does not equal". I'm guessing there's a flashier, more complicated answer, though...

Adding a single straight line will make this equation logical!
5 + 5 + 5 = 550
Absolutely, the single straight line that is added is definitely the slanted line on the upper left corner of the first + sign to make it look like a 4, thus 5 4 5 + 5 = 550. And Chewie is right, the 4th grade gave it away as well. Totally makes sense to me.
