im not much of a bargainer when i shop, more when it's business related. but i do see my mom say with a completely stern face, "how about $40?" when an item is $60.

and i'm like "mom, this is Robinson's May. they don't do that here"

my markdown is usually 1/2 the asking price. same time, ask for extra little items they can add w/o extra charges. i bargain my first brand new car in 94. it was a 95 lexus. i knocked down $ 7000 from the dealer's price. original was $ 42,000 down to $ 35,000. i'm sure some people can bargain more than me. i thought $ 7000 was good. i was only 21 at that time.

When throwing figures back and forth, never accept to their terms. You should always make the final offer.

Ok..here is what i did...I bought the live rock i needed to get my salt water aquarium going, plus i got a chocolate chip star fish, and red spider star fish, and a brown one, along with misc crabs etc...here are the new pics...

the update and more pics are in my blog, I think i did ok bargaining...I came out with about $600 worth of stuff (retail) for $200, he was moving and has a 240 gal salt, to tear down.. so i got lucky...
