So, I got the idea a couple of weeks ago to move to San Antonio , Texas. I mean, why not? I want to get away from the East coast and the ghosts haunting me here. It's gonna be a BIG move for me. I am going it alone with just my son, dog and car. I'm looking for a place now.
Have you ever made a big move alone? I am sure a lot of people have. One of those big 'my life will never be the same but thats a good thing' move.
Heres my new Shiba Inu puppy...her name is Sesame (I couldn't get a baby so I got her)
I just moved back to Dallas. Kiss your asians goodbye, there arent any there!
Moving there was absolutely miserable for me. I cant discourage you enough. There are better areas such as Austin and Dallas to live in if you want the Texas feel, but San Antonio is going to be such a bore for you if your from the East Coast (or anywhere but San Antonio).
Email me and I'll give you straight details, and if your determined, tell you the safe areas (cause it can get shady FAST)
I can't comment on your location choice, but I just upped and moved all by myself 3k miles - from the right coast to the left coast. If its something you really want to do, its possible. But I'm single, you have a son, so there is much more to consider. How old is he, does he have attachments? How will you adjust while helping him adjust? If it really is for the better for both of you, then go for it, but be sure it's not on a whim since you have larger responsibilities.
What if Prince Charming had never shown up? Would Snow White have slept in that glass coffin forever? Or would she have eventually woken up, spit out the apple, gotten a job, a health-care package and a baby from her local neighborhood sperm bank?
Swoltz, Sounds like you're ready to make a big move, but is it the right one? Why did you pick San Antonio? Do you have family there? A job? And as CinthebigD says, there are not any Asian Boys there! LMAO! But seriously, it is a big move.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I have one friend who is going to be moving to SA as well so I won't be completely alone. I am going to be going to school there for a while and will probably relocate after I graduate. I think it will be cool to live in a totally different city and meet new people. If things don't work out I can always move again.
I moved from Houston to SF three years ago. I could have stayed and be comfortable but Houston is ugly. I like the riverwalk in San Antonio. I thought it was a clean city but I usually see it in a few days for work and never seen the bad side so I like what I've seen. Texas people are nice, good luck on the move.
